Dear Regional Directors,

 

I would like to share some news from the recent Executive Council meeting:

 

  1. The meeting discussed the SEA Games competition, highlighting its significance as a major event with Olympic and non-Olympic sports. Few changes were made to the regular IPSC competition format there, including the use of measured stages, the absence of swingers, and the opportunity for athletes to walk through the stages a day before shooting. The importance of participating in the competition as a step toward Olympic recognition was emphasized. It was approved that SEA Games be classified as a Level IV event. 
  2. The report of the EC members visiting a match in Saudi Arabia was presented to the meeting. The range was very good there with the possibility to shoot after sunset as well. The match was a great success for local and international competitors with the high level of organization.
  3. The updates on ESS upgrades were presented to the meeting, highlighting that the ESS system achieved an A+ security rating with full GTR compliance, and new features for range officer management and match history tracking were demonstrated. The following items were discussed: upcoming projects including a classification system and mobile application development.
  4. The criteria and requirements for organizing IPSC World Cup, including details about the match structure, participant categories, and the role of the host in managing logistics and range officers was discussed at the meeting
  5. The discussion on the match capacity and high demand for slots for the European Handgun Championship was discussed by the meeting. Different options were proposed. The discussion concluded with plans to further explore these ideas at the next meeting, including consulting with Regional Directors.
  6. The meeting discussed preparations for the upcoming 50th anniversary of IPSC, including plans for exhibitions and souvenirs at the Shot Show and IWA Show. There will be two booths at IWA for the anniversary celebration.
  7. The meeting discussed Anti-Doping policy for IPSC competitions, discussing that WADA control requirements would be added to contracts.
  8. It was decided to approve IPSC Mini Rifle and Pistol Caliber Carbine shooting in Regions whose ranges have a maximum target distance of 50 meters then, notwithstanding Rules 1.2.1.6 to 1.2.1.10, Mini Rifle and Pistol Caliber Carbine matches up to and including Level III may be run on ranges with a maximum target distance of 50 meters for a one year evaluation period commencing on the 1st January 2026. Any Region interested in trialing this should apply to the IPSC EC for authorization under IPSC Competition Rule 3.3.1

Estimados Directores Regionales,

 

Me gustaría compartir algunas noticias de la reciente reunión del Consejo Ejecutivo:

 

  1. La reunión trató sobre la competición de los Juegos del Sudeste Asiático, destacando su importancia como un evento importante tanto para deportes olímpicos como no olímpicos. Se hicieron pocos cambios en el formato regular de competición de IPSC, incluyendo el uso de etapas medidas, la ausencia de swingers y la oportunidad para que los atletas recorrieran las etapas un día antes de disparar. Se subrayó la importancia de participar en la competición como un paso hacia el reconocimiento olímpico. Se aprobó que los Juegos del Sudeste Asiático se clasificaran como un evento de Nivel IV.
  2. Se presentó en la reunión el informe de los miembros de la CE que visitaron un partido en Arabia Saudí. El campo de tiro es muy bueno allí, con la posibilidad de disparar también después del atardecer. El match fue un gran éxito tanto para competidores locales como internacionales gracias al alto nivel de organización.
  3. Las actualizaciones sobre las mejoras del sistema ESS se presentaron en la reunión, destacando que el sistema ESS logró una calificación de seguridad A+ con cumplimiento total del GTR, y se demostraron nuevas funciones para la gestión de oficiales de campo y el seguimiento del historial de partidas. Se discutieron los siguientes puntos: proyectos futuros que incluyen un sistema de clasificación y desarrollo de aplicaciones móviles.
  4. En la reunión se discutieron los criterios y requisitos para organizar la Copa Mundial IPSC, incluyendo detalles sobre la estructura de las competencias, las categorías de participantes y el papel del anfitrión en la gestión de la logística y los oficiales de campo de tiro
  5. La discusión sobre la capacidad de las competencias y la alta demanda de plazas para el Campeonato Europeo de Pistola fue debatida en la reunión. Se propusieron diferentes opciones. La discusión concluyó con planes para explorar más estas ideas en la próxima reunión, incluyendo la consulta con los Directores Regionales.
  6. La reunión trató los preparativos para el próximo 50º aniversario de IPSC, incluyendo planes para exposiciones y recuerdos en Shot Show e IWA Show. Habrá dos stands en IWA para la celebración del aniversario.
  7. La reunión debatió la política antidopaje para las competiciones IPSC, discutiendo que se añadirían requisitos de control de WADA a los contratos.
  8. Se decidió aprobar la práctica de Mini Rifle y Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) de IPSC en aquellas Regiones cuyos campos de tiro tengan una distancia máxima a los blancos de 50 metros. En consecuencia, y no obstante lo dispuesto en las Reglas 1.2.1.6 a 1.2.1.10, se podrán organizar competiciones de Mini Rifle y Pistol Caliber Carbine hasta Nivel III inclusive en campos de tiro con una distancia máxima a los blancos de 50 metros, durante un período de evaluación de un año que comenzará el 1 de enero de 2026. Cualquier Región interesada en realizar esta prueba deberá solicitar autorización al Comité Ejecutivo de IPSC (IPSC EC) conforme a la Regla de Competición IPSC 3.3.1.
