Dear Regional Directors,
I would like to share some news from the recent Executive Council and Continental Council meetings:
- ESS report. 74 Regions are using the IPSC ESS system now. Import permits for the Handgun World Shoot are being worked on and the status will be updated in the athletes’ profiles. The section “Profile” in the ESS is available for the Regional Directors, so the Regional Directors can see how many teams and competitors in each division are registered to the match.
- Next year IPSC will celebrate its 50th anniversary. A brief discussion regarding the planned activities was conducted. All ideas and proposals are encouraged to be shared. A discussion regarding whether a Range Master is eligible to participate as an athlete in a Pre-Match continued. Various opinions were expressed during the meeting. The Rules Committee will continue to review and address this matter further.
- The meeting discussed concerns about the Sig Sauer P320 firearm. It was agreed to conduct additional testing of the P320, particularly for the firearms registered for the upcoming World Shoot.
- Final Agenda for the upcoming General Assembly was presented to the meeting. It will be sent to the Regional Directors in a short while.
- The applications submitted by Jordan and India were reviewed during the meeting. It was subsequently decided to recommend to the Assembly that these Regions be accepted on a provisional basis for a period of one year.
- The nomination of Emily Ngan (Hong Kong) for the position of Action Air Shooting Director was approved by the meeting. Her expertise and dedication to the sport are expected to significantly contribute to the development of the discipline.
- Regional Director for Germany, Sigrid Schuh was invited to join IPSC Continental Council as a Central Europe representative.
- The IPSC Executive Council supported the Rules Committee’s opinion that the use of the TriggerTech ACE Trigger System for Glock (“the trigger”) is not permitted in any of the IPSC Handgun Divisions as it does not comply with the current IPSC Handgun Competition Rules. The primary reason being that there is no visible safety and no practical way for Match Officials to check whether or not the safety has been applied and is functioning correctly during a match. Additionally, as the handgun’s original firearm manufacturer back plate must be replaced when fitting the trigger, it does not comply with the requirements of Production Division and Production Optics Division.

- El Consejo Ejecutivo de IPSC apoyó la opinión del Comité de Reglas de que el uso del sistema de gatillo TriggerTech ACE para Glock (“el gatillo”) no está permitido en ninguna de las divisiones de armas de fuego de IPSC, ya que no cumple con las Reglas de Competencia de Armas de Fuego de IPSC actuales. La razón principal es que no hay seguridad visible ni forma práctica para que los oficiales del partido verifiquen si la seguridad se ha aplicado o no y funciona correctamente durante una competencia. Además, como la placa trasera original del fabricante del arma de fuego debe reemplazarse al colocar el gatillo, no cumple con los requisitos de la División de Producción y la División de Óptica de Producción.
