IPSC will be present at SHOT SHOW 2024

The International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) will be present at SHOT Show 2024 from 23 to 26 January in Las Vegas, USA, one of the world’s largest professional events for the sport shooting, hunting and outdoor industry.

“Participation in the SHOT Show gives us the opportunity to present our sport to the professional community, meet with our long-term partners and introduce IPSC Sport to new players in the professional sport shooting market”, said IPSC President Vitaly Kryuchin.

 

The IPSC delegation will be represented at the SHOT Show 2024 by both headquarters’ members and Regional Directors. The IPSC delegation is represented by IPSC Vice President Friedrich Gepperth, IROA President Dino Evangelinos, IPSC Sponsorship Director – Vice President for New Regions Alain Joly, IROA Vice President Jose Carlos Belino and IPSC Treasurer Roland Dahlman.

The IPSC Sanctioning Committee breaks a new record

The IPSC Sanctioning Committee breaks a new record

The Committee has broken the barrier of 603 sanctions this year for IPSC level 3-5 matches.

By the end of 2023, the Committee will end up at 610+ matches, which is an increase of 22% over 2022.

IPSC sports development is going on at a fast speed and more and more IPSC Regions show a great rate of match organizing in all IPSC disciplines.

The discipline of Practical Shooting has experienced great growth in recent years and more top athletes raise to the podium in every competition.
 
To explore and study new developments, a scientific research laboratory will be opened at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Physical Education and Sport Science to study different aspects of physical psychological and mental training, nutrition as well as to gather material and conduct research together with the scientists from other universities.
 
The developments and findings will be widely shared with other institutions within our IPSC Regions for the betterment of Practical Shooting.

Dear Regional Directors,

I would like to share some news from the recent Executive Council meeting:

1)    The European Handgun Championship was discussed at the meeting. It was a very successful match. Thanks to the Match Organizers from Greece, IROA and NROI Teams and Match Sponsors for it. It was the first match when there were 8 people in squad, the feedback from the participants was very positive on that.

2)    Mr. Ioannis Kelaidakis from Greece was appointed as an IPSC Scientific Research Director. Scientific research laboratory will be opened in Corinth to study different aspects of physical psychological and mental training, nutrition as well as to gather material and conduct research together with the scientists from the Athens universities.

3)    An item on restrictions in the updated Target Array Book was discussed at the meeting. IROA President is preparing a detailed explanation concerning the Target Array Book.

4)    October 2023 Rules Interpretations approved by the General Assembly were discussed by meeting and will be published on the web page in a short while. It was decided to publish changes in the Rules Interpretations in accordance with the General Assembly decision.

5)    Work to establish collaboration with International Federations of other shooting sports is in progress.

Estimados Directores Regionales,

Me gustaría compartir algunas noticias de la reciente reunión del Consejo Ejecutivo:

1)    En la reunión se debatió sobre el Campeonato Europeo de Armas de Fuego. Fue una competencia muy exitosa. Gracias a los organizadores en Grecia, a los equipos de IROA y NROI y a los patrocinadores. Fue la primera competencia en la que había 8 personas en el equipo, y los comentarios de los participantes fueron muy positivos al respecto.

2)    El Sr. Ioannis Kelaidakis de Grecia fue nombrado Director de Investigación Científica del IPSC. Se abrirá un laboratorio de investigación científica en Corintos para estudiar diferentes aspectos del entrenamiento físico, psicológico y mental, la nutrición, así como para recopilar material y realizar investigaciones junto con los científicos de las universidades de Atenas.

3)    En la reunión se debatió sobre las restricciones en el Libro de Matrices de Objetivos (Target Array Book) actualizado. El presidente de IROA está preparando una explicación detallada sobre el Libro de Matriz de Objetivos.

4)    Las interpretaciones de las Reglas Octubre 2023 aprobadas por la Asamblea General fueron discutidas en reunión y serán publicadas en la página web en breve. Se decidió publicar los cambios introducidos en las interpretaciones del Reglamento de conformidad con la decisión de la Asamblea General.

5)    Se está trabajando para establecer una colaboración con las Federaciones Internacionales de otros deportes de tiro.
