The 1999 American Handgunner Postal Match was the first to feature the Classic target. There were 902 (valid) entries in total from 27 Regions.

Australia has a strong showing in the 1999 results, taking the Open Division titles in Overall, Lady and Region results. Brodie McIntosh wins Open Division for Australia, while Suzy Van Vledder wins Open Lady.

Rounding out the Open Division results are Elardus De Lang of South Africa winning the Junior category, and Rudy Bautista of Guam winning in Senior.

In Standard Division, John Acer of Canada wins Overall and Top Senior. Linda Swanepoel of South Africa is Top Lady. Top Junior is Raul Urrestarazu from Uruguay. Germany wins the Region title in Standard.

Germany also wins the Region title in Modified Division, with Klaus Lemke of Germany winning the Senior category. The Overall title in Modified goes to Ralf Jensen from Denmark. There were not enough entries for Lady and Junior winners in Modified Division.

Minimum Rounds: 31
Penalties: As per IPSC, 13th edition rules
Props: 4 Barricades - 1.25m wide (4 feet) x 2.5m (8 feet)
1 Garbage bag (24" x 36")
1 Chair (armless)
1 Car tire

Note 1: Garbage bag to be filled with crumpled paper and tied at top.

Note 2: Hands clasped around bag means one hand holding wrist of other hand around bag.

Note 3: In all stages, the top of the targets must not be placed higher than 1.5 meters.


Stage 1. "Back Alley"

Type: Speed Shoot

Scoring: Comstock

Start: Standing 7 meters from targets at charge line, facing uprange (back to targets) with arms around a large garbage bag full of crumpled newspaper. Hands clasped around the bag.

Procedure: On audible signal, turn and engage Target Group 1 with a minimum of two rounds on each target (total of 6 rounds).


Stage 2. "No Help Here"

Type: Speed Shoot

Scoring: Comstock

Start: Seated in chair, 10 meters from targets at charge line, with hands on lap. Chair and competitor facing downrange.

Procedure: On the audible signal, engage Target Group 2. Targets T1 and T2 will score 2 rounds each and T3 will score 1 round (total of 5 rounds).


Stage 3. "A Man's Job"

Type: Speed Shoot

Scoring: Comstock

Start: Kneeling, (both knees on the ground) facing downrange, 10 meters from targets at charge line, hands on top of the standing tire as if you were changing a flat.

Procedure: On the audible signal, engage Target Group 3 with a minimum of two rounds on each target (total of 6 rounds).


Stage 4. "Shoot and Move"

Type: Field Course

Scoring: Comstock

Start: Standing at X, facing downrange, hands at sides.

Procedure: On the audible signal, engage T1 - T7 of Target Group 4 with a minimum of two rounds on each target from within charge lines (total of 14 rounds).
